Mendel Beiliss was falsely accused of murdering a Christian boy in
Kiev. The boy's mutilated body was discovered on a Sunday morning in
March 1911. Beiliss was charged with killing him to use the blood for
matzahs for Passover. It was a very celebrated case and he was
eventually acquitted.
See the book "Blood Accusation: the Strange History of the Beiliss Case"
by Maurice Samuel. 1966.

Also can anyone give me info on what appears to be an infamous,
anti-semitic trial in Poland around 1912? I came across it in the
course of translating a portion of a Lipno, Poland yitzkor book.
