Would anyone know the origin of the name "SHELUB"?

I believe that this name is a shortened version of SHELUBSKY. One who
is >from Shelub, now Vselyub outside of Novogrudok. I have ancestors >from
that town and although I have visited the graves of my g-grandfather and
his brother-in-law many times over the years, by coincidence, I just
realized (two weeks ago) that the section of Mt. Zion cemetary (Queens,
NYC) in which they are buried belongs to the Sheleb Society. There were
quite a few stones with the names SHELUBSKY and SHELUB in the section.

I will be compiling a list of all stones in this section the next time
I get out there (in a few months).

Another coincidence is that I was in touch with an individual with the
SHELUBSKY name in her tree just a few days ago. If you don't mind I will
forward your address to her.

P.S.
I do not have any SHELUBSKY/SHELUB ancestors I have identified so far.
