Yesterday I tried a shot in the dark with the Hamburg list and to my
surprise received a feedback. Someone with exactly the same name of my
gf (Benjamin BLUMENKOPF) emigrated in 1891 >from Petersburg in Russland
to Buenos Aires. I am sure he was not my gf but my question is if in
Petersburg jews were allowed to settle at that time. Also were can I
found the name of the towns near Petersburg were jews were allowed to
live?
