Hello, My name is Chuck Barnes and I'm a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer working at the Alytus Tourist Information Center in Alytus, Lithuania. One of the projects I'm working on is a pamphlet on the Jewish history in Alytus. This pamphlet is being written both to tell the story of the Jews of Alytus but also hoping to develop tourism in Alytus. Alytus has a great old Synagogue, a old cemetery and a monument to the Jews killed here during WW2. I have not been able to find any information on the Synagogue. If you have any information on are Synagogue or the Jews of Alytus I would appreciate the help.
