GENKIN NYC Passenger index - listing #general

Hilary Henkin <hilary@...>

Dear group,

When I look through the passenger list index for New York City for a
specific relative, I sometimes write down every possible family member, just
in case.

I have ended up with long lists of passengers who are no apparent relation
to me. Perhaps they'll be relations to you!

Below are listed the variations on GENKIN who immigrated to New York between
1897 and 1945. I don't claim it's complete, but I've tried to copy the
spelling of each name as it appeared. A question mark means I wasn't sure
of the number or letter. Note: HENKIN is a separate group, which I'll
transcribe at a later date.

If you find a name you wish further information on, please refer to the
InfoFiles for instructions on finding and ordering the correct reel of
microfilm for passenger manifests. I have no other information.

Good luck!

A helpful hint: To see families travelling together, sort these names
according to the date or volume number. Families will group themselves.

MODERATOR NOTE: Most of the entries have been edited out to save space.
Please contact Hilary privately for further details. Note that the
JewishGen Discussion Group Rules state that long lists and tables should be
submitted as an InfoFile or a database, rather than as a post to the
Discussion Group. One advantage of this approach is that tables do not
display properly when posted here, and such operations as the sorting Hilary
suggests are generally not possible without a considerable amount of
tinkering and computer skill.
