We have always thought that Dobrisch was a masculine name from Dov. But now we found a female who's name is Dobrisch. The only name we can think of as it's origin, is Devora. (This woman is
from the Ukrain.) Can anyone confirm or refute this?
Dobra (familiar forms Dobrush, Dabrush) is a well known Jewish female name in Slavic countries (dobry = good)
My wife's ggm had that name and it is still in use nowadays.
Despite the apparent similarity it has no connection with Devorah, and it is not used as a man's name.
