In this mornings mail I received an attachment icon with no name
listed. I do not want to open anything without a name.

By any chance, is it the web site with Brisker and Grodner list?

no sender:

SHOULD *ALWAYS* BE TRASHED IMMEDIATELY
-- AND THE TRASH EMPTIED!
-- AND ALSO DELETEDE >from THE DIRECTORY WITH FILE-ATTACHES!

No matter how interesting it might look!

If you know the sender, but do not expect anything, check with the
sender first -- he/she might unknowingly have gotten a virus/work
and unknowingly be spreading them every time an e-mail is sent out.

But, naturally, first and foremost:
Be sure to have a first class and updated anti-virus program!!!
