Ruth - I was able to find the passenger list >from the "boat" that my
grandfather arrived on >from Canada into Lewiston, NY. I had the date and port >from my grandfather's naturalization papers. I suppose the boat was more like what we think of today as a ferry. There was alot of information provided on that passenger list. These collective passenger lists are referred to as St Albans lists, as I believe it covers several small ports bordering Canada in the Northeast US. Check out information on the NARA website ---> http://www.nara.gov/genealogy/immigration/immigrat.html I understand that it is possible through the Canadian Archives to find the passenger arrival lists of our families who arrived *into* Canada - but I personally have not gone down that path............. yet.
