I spoke with the Library of Congress copyright office this morning to
get clarification about what we are trying to do with "The Jewish
Encyclopedia" first published in 1904 and republished through 1912. The
LOC said that "anything published prior to 1923 was in the public
domain".

Therefore, I see no problems with the project to get the Belarus related
articles retyped and put on the SIG website.
