Tevl an Tuvia are distinct names.
Tevl (however spelt) is used in Yiddish as a kinui for the Hebrew
David - hence Dovid Tevl.
Tuvia is a corruption of the hebrew name Tovia.
The names amy have been used interchangeably in more recent generations.
