Keep in mind that the "Jewish name" (Hebrew or Yiddish form)
may have no relation to the English-language name.

Indeed, I am an "Aaron David Gross" on my birth certificate, but
the name used to call me to the Torah is "Avraham" (Hebrew for
Abraham. My father's legal name is Jonathan, but his Jewish
legal name is Nechemiah. His father's names were Nathan/Nachum.

Thus, for three generations, both English and Jewish names were
different *and* of Jewish origin.

Don't assume you can derive a Hebrew name >from what is used in
common use.
