Yesterday, soon after I sent in my response to Samuel Lenger's inquiry
about a town he spelled as "Piusk" I received a message >from Sue Shifman
who said that she could not find records for a "Piaski Wielke" which she
said was about 15 miles south of Krakow.
So I rummaged about more than I had bothered to do before I answered Mr.
Lenger and discovered >from Suzan Wynne's book that there are several towns
all called Piaski, in various districts: Brody, Brzesko, Lemberg (Lviv),
Wieliczka, Rudki, and Mosciska.
Now I am even less sure sure than I was about what I told Mr. Lenger
and the group, nor can I help Ms. Shifman other than suggesting, as I did,
that she try to find maps for the several Piaskis to find which one was
closest to Krakow. I hope someone more knowledgeable than I can help.
