In researching family members in the Tarnopol, Ukraine index,
at times, for Birth records, there are two columns, "year" and "born."
The dates in the two columns are sometimes different and
sometimes the same. What does the "year" column refer to?
In the Jewish Records Indexing - Poland (JRI-Poland) FAQ -
under the heading "Interpreting Search Results" you will see
the following:

Year = The Year the event (B, M, D, V) was registered

"Born" indicates the year born and where the two years
differ, it is an indication that this was a 'late registration.'
