Ever Grossman. What kind of name is it? I know it is male. What are
equivalents???"
Ever is a Yiddish name which together with the Hebrew name Avraham, forms a
legal Hebrew double name: Avraham hamechune Ever/Eyver/Everlin. Any one
of the last three similar names could appear in a record. Such double
names were required to be used in formal Jewish documents (ketuva, get) or
to call a man to the Tora for an aliya. Other variations are Eber, Evril,
and Eyvril.
