Re: how to get info on a foundation? #general

Irene (hi!)-- go to your nearest university's development office and ask to
see their foundation directory. (A big library would have that, too--but I
don't know about Hawaii.) Sorry, I can't remember the name of the beast,
but it has all the information you want. What it probably won't tell you
is whether the foundation is proactive or reactive--some prefer to define
their own giving patterns and some like to get bright ideas >from outside.

I was doing a google search on one of the rare names in my family -
PEIERLS & found references to 2 foundations as donors to various causes:
The Peierls Foundation, Inc. & the Jeff Peierls Foundation. I'd very much
like to know the history of these foundations. None of the references
included addresses. Can anyone recommend a resource on private
foundations?

Thanks in advance!
