I have a document stating that my great grandfather was born in Riga.
I was also told the family came >from Riga.
I thought this odd as I understood it was illegal for Jews to live in Riga
in the mid to late 1800s.
I assumed Riga was the sea port in Latvia.
However it has now been suggested that there is another 'Riga' in Russia.
Can anyone clarify this and does anyone know where 'Riga 2' is located?
