JFRA Ra'anana Wednesday March 6 meeting #general

Schelly Dardashti <dardasht@...>

JFRA/ESRA Ra'anana is pleased to invite all
researchers to our next meeting:

"My search for family in Argentina,"
with Marcia Chamovitz

Date: Wednesday, March 6
Time: Program, 7 pm;
English presentation, 7.30 pm
At: Bet Fischer, 5 Klausner St., Ra'anana

Marcia's interest in family history research began
decades ago. Her father, originally >from Kamenetz
Podolya knew he had many first cousins, but contact
between the branches ended about 110 years ago.
After pursuing internet and other sources, she found
that her grandmother's brother had arrived in Argentina
in 1889.
In other resources, she discovered that he was one of
the founders of the Moisesville colony and was one of
the first burials in the Moisesville cemetery.
Eighteen months ago, Marcia and her husband David
visited Argentina and located many relatives.
The story of her discoveries was just printed in
the Winter 2001 issue of Avotaynu.
Brooklyn-born Marcia made aliya with her physician
husband David in 1984. They have two children and five
grandchildren. Marcia is president of Hadassah Tel
Aviv, and also volunteers in various capacities with
AACI (Association of Americans and Canadians in
Israel).

JFRA members, NIS 5 (facility fee); others, NIS 15.
