CARP and Sephardim #general

Leon Taranto

Some of us do have names that are identfiably Sephardic, including
several that I'm researching. (Of course, some are not specifically
Jewish surnames, but others, like BARMAIMON, PAPOUCHADO, ALHADEFF,
BERESIT, ABOUAF are typically seen only as Jewish names).

Researching: TARANTO, PAPOUCHADO, CAPOUYA (MeCAPOUYA, CAPUIA,
CAPUYA, KAPUYA), OUMANO, BARMAIMON (BARBANYON, BARBAGNON,
BARBANON, BARBAIMON), CAPELLUTO, HERRERA, ALHADEFF, BERECIT
(BERESIT, BERESCIT, BEDRESSI), TABUH (TABOCH), FRANCO, ABOUAF,
and probably BENUNO -- mostly >from Izmir (Smyrna) and Rhodes; but
also >from Antalya (Adalia) for the OUMANO and HERRERA families
