On the ALD I find an 1858 revision list record for a REYDER family in the
town of Solsk, Oshmiany Uezd (?), Vilna Gubernia. Today, Oshmiany Uezd is
in Belarus.

Using ShtetlSeeker, I got a few hits, but nothing in Oshmiany Uezd. I am
wondering if Solsk may be present day Soly, about half way between
Oshmiany and Smorgon.

On the EIDB manifest, my GGF and Great Aunt listed their place of birth
and last place of residence as Soli. My maternal grandmother listed Sol
on both her EIDB manifest and Soc Sec application. My GGF, great aunt and
maternal grandmother, by the way, were REJDERs. (I'm listing the spelling
differently, as I found them in such a manner.)

Nachum,

Soly is definitely what was known as Solsk in 19th century.

Thanks to the good folks >from JRI-P that have placed 1929 Poland Business
Directory on line at

You can access there listing for town Soly, and under this listing you will
read (under the header: "Blawaty") that Chaim Rejder was the haberdasher
(blawatnik) in town Soly.

Hope this help
