A " farible" is what a person has when you don't invite them to the
wedding, party or event that everyone else is going to. I first heard
it in South Africa when the widow of my father's cousin was not invited
to my sons wedding.(The bride's family did not realize how big a family
the Canadian groom had in South Africa and so had to leave out the widow)
She would not speak to my father even though she had not seen him for
over 50 years. She had a "farible" against him.
I think it is a Yiddish Litvack expression.
