Shirley Rosen <shirli@...>
I am looking for information about the person and family of H. C. ELSNER
who served in the Light Cavalry Brigade of the Imperial Australian Forces
and fought in the battles to take Beer Sheva and Gaza in what was
Palestine in 1917 during WW1. Sergeant First class ELSNER enlisted in the
army in Jul 1915 and definitely survived the war. I recently learned this
little bit about him >from a memorial exhibition commemorating the taking
of Beer Sheva by the Light Cavalry on 31 Oct 1917.
I would appreciate it if anyone can help me find information about this
person, i.e. where in Australia he came from, if there are still living
descendents, where his parents came from, etc.
Thank you in advance for any help.
