I believe that the shtetl Josie wants may be now known as Ivanovo in
Belarus. It was formerly known as Yanovo/Yanow and is located in
southwestern Belarus (52 09' / 25 32') in an area that was Polish speaking.
It is west of Pinsk and east of Brest (which is on the current Polish
border). Check out the JewishGen Family Finder. There are a number of
people researching Ivanovo (Yanovo). In fact, one branch of my wife's
family hails >from there. A partial translation of the Yizkor Book for this
shtetl can be found at

that their might be someone out their who might recognise this
town/shteitl
