Janice Goldman's modern "Suczawa, Austria" could well be
Suceava, in the NNE of today's Romania, about 25 miles >from
the Ukrainian border and about 40 >from the Moldovan border.
It is the head of today's Suceava Judete (county) of Romania,
formerly the southern part of Bukovina.

Bukovina was an independent crown land in the Austro Hungarian
empire. Its northern part is the Chernivetska oblast, in
today's Ukraine.

More information may be found at
http://www.shtetlinks.jewishgen.org/suceava/suceava.htm

It is 221.1 miles N of Bucharest according to JewishGen's
ShtetlSeeker
http://www.jewishgen.org/ShtetlSeeker/loctown.htm
Coordinates 47 38' E 26 15' N

Hope this helps,
