On Sept. 25, 03 Naomi Barnett asked about the ship Roma on which her
mother sailed to Jaffa in 1927. She also wanted to know about finding a
passenger list.

There is a picture of the Roma at:

Some information about the Roma's sailing dates can be seen at:

For obtaining a passenger list for 1927, Ms. Barnett should write to
the Central Zionist Archives's "Search Bureau for Information about
Immigrants," addressing her email to:

familyresearch@jazo.org.il

More than a month ago, Sharon Visser of this Service, who was very
helpful to me in finding the passenger list for a cousin of my grandfather
who had arrived in Palestine 1924, wrote to Jewishgen that she had been
succeeded in her job by Ruth an Tamara. By now Ms. an Tamara should have
become familiar with the methods used by the Search Bureau.

If Ms. Barnett happens to know the month on which her mother arrived in
Jaffa, that would greatly facilitate Ms. an Tamara's search for her mother
and the passengers who sailed with her.
