Updating info - WEINTRAUB Family. #general

Dear All,

I have just come upon some additional information that applies to a posting
I made over a year ago.

Sara Rifke WEINTRAUB >from Galatz Romania – a widow aged 54 – arrives in
New York in 1906 and goes to her son Jacob Weintraub. – 1st Avenue.

I have been looking for descendants of Jacob and his 2 brothers Morris and
Joseph without success – perhaps now that I have found Sara someone might
remember that their ancestor Sara did indeed have 3 sons.

In the 1930 census Sara is living with Jacob, his wife Bessie (whose
maiden name might possibly have been Feller) – and their 6 children,
Bella, Blanche, Matilda, Samuel, Ethel and Helen. Jacob was the owner of a
restaurant. Address – 63rd St., Brooklyn, Kings.

On the SSDI I found a Samuel Weintraub (birth date fits) who died in 1980
in San Bernardino – perhaps another lead for someone?

I would add that due to the recent postings about returning to the Morse
site – I did so – and that is when I found Sara, her name had been spelt
Wientraub, although I had checked this spelling previously I had done so
on the Jewish Passengers list – she is not listed there, only on the
general sites. I have found this to be true of other family members, so
let this be a general tip, just because you know that your family was
Jewish does not necessarily mean they will appear on the Jewish site.

Wishing everyone a Happy Chanukah.
