Dear Fellow Researchers,

The Jewish Records Indexing - Poland project is happy to announce that the
indices to all the Jewish vital records of Osiek have been indexed by the
JRI-Poland team in Warsaw as part of the Sandomierz Polish State Archives
(PSA) Project. There are no LDS films for this town, so this project covers
all available records >from Osiek. Registration in Osiek started only in
1888, and prior to that, Osiek Jews were registered in nearby towns,
primarily Staszow.

Osiek is located at latitude 50 31', longitude 21 27', 13 miles (20 km) E
of Staszow, 9 miles (15 km) NE of Polaniec, 11 miles (18 km )
south of Klimontow, in the Sandomierz area, Radom gubernia.

Jews first settled in Osiek in the early years of the 19th century. In 1857
the number of Jews in Osiek totalled 154, and it grew to 539 in
1921. In October 1942 Osiek's ghetto was liquidized and the Jews were sent
to Treblinka.

as Staszow, Koprzywnica, Klimontow, Bogoria and Polaniec
('Plontch'), this is an exceptional opportunity to find out more on your
family.

14 years between 1888 and 1902, as follows:
