As someone explained, Kassa is the Hungarian for Kosice. The word "Kassan"
(with an accent over the second a) means in Hungarian: "in Kassa"

I am trying to identify the location "Kassan" on an old family photograph
from Hungary circa (1880's). Could "Kassan" (with an accent over the
second "a") be modern day Kosice, Hungary?
