List of founding members of Drohobycz NY landsman society #general

Mark Jacobson

Hi group

I have a copy of the certificate of incorporation of
the Independent Drohobycz Young Men's Sick and
Benevolent Association, incorporated in Manhattan, May
2, 1904. This is a typed transcript copy >from the
state, so it has no signatures. It says they formed
the organization "to hold meetings for the spiritual
and intellectual advancement of its members also for
charitable and belevolent purposes". There were seven
directors. Their names and addresses (these are 1904
addresses of men long deceased, presented only for
information purposes to the group):

Gustav BRATSPIS, 40 Clinton Street
Julius BLEIBERG, 170 Suffolk Street
Moses SEMMEL, 182 Stanton Street
Louis FLASHENBERG, 202 Delancey Street
Wolf RUDERMAN, 182 Stanton Street
Sam STONE, 182 Stanton Street
Charles WEISSER, 117 Broome Street

None of the above listed men are known relatives of
mine, they are Drohobycz landsmen who founded this
Drohobycz organization that my grandfather, Joe
KAMERMAN, his brother Bernard, and many cousins
belonged to >from the 1910's to the end in 1993.
