Does anyone know if Puerto Rico is included in the 1890 or 1900 U.S.
Census even though it is not one of the 50 states.
As Puerto Rico was ceded to the United States only in 1898, and in 1890
still belonged to the Spanish Crown, it was not included in the US census of
that year.
