Dear JewishGen Community,
The following message was distributed via email earlier this evening. If you are in a position to do so, please consider making a gift in memory of Phyllis by clicking here. When donation, please also provide any experiences or memories you have of Phyllis. We will share the comments with Phyllis' family.
On Friday, September 6, 2019, Phyllis Kramer, long-time volunteer and Director of Education for JewishGen.org, passed away after a brief illness.
Following her retirement from IBM, Phyllis devoted nearly three decades supporting JewishGen’s important work. She taught thousands of students, and provided personal research assistance to the many people who sought her advice and guidance. A search of our Discussion Forums will reveal many hundreds of questions to which Phyllis responded.
A compassionate and courageous woman, Phyllis chose not to publicize her health situation. Instead, she continued lecturing at conferences, and teaching classes until she could no longer do so. Her advice, big-picture thinking, and strategic planning, helped pave the way for successful fundraising campaigns, content acquisition, and volunteer engagement.
In coordination with her family, we have established the Phyllis Kramer, Z'L, Memorial Fund, which will be used to help advance JewishGen's educational efforts, and the very critical work that will continue to define Phylis' legacy for many years to come.

With great sadness,
