ben forman <ben.forman@...>
I'm writing to you on the off chance that you might be able to help me
out. For 7 years I've been searching for the origins of my GGPs who
arrived in England in 1899. According to family lore they came from
Poland, but according to the UK 1901 census they came >from Germany.
Then today I had an email on behalf of someone else who had family -
from Czechoslovakia - called GEDELOVICZ, so on the off chance my GGPswere >from Czechoslovakia I typed FORMAN into the SIG archive and it came
up (evidently Milos Forman was >from Czechoslovakia).
So I have 2 questions:
1. Is it possible the German/Poland confusion of my family origins is
due to the shifting borders of europe between 1895 and 1925 and that
they could have come >from Czechoslovakia
2.Does anyone by any chance have the names Woolf FORMAN or Rebecca
GEDELOVICZ in their tree.
The only other info I have is
Woolf (Zev) Forman was born 1876 he was son of Tzvi
Rebecca Gedelowicz was born 1878 she was daughter of Abraham
I'll be grateful for any info
