Dear Genners:
We are looking for relatives of Dov Bekenstein and
Channa Chelevitsky residents of Zelwa a schtetl situated in between
Volkovysk and Slonim.
Their sons Chaim David and Iossel Michael Bekenstein migrated to Argentina
in 1895.Gershon Bekenstein another son also migrated to Argentina in 1921
and made Alia in 1934.Iossel Michael was married to Reissel Salmanovich
daughter of Chaim David Salmanovich and Rebeca Kaplan.Dov had got a brother
Leib Bekenstein married to Matilde(Malka or Masha) Wolpiansky.Family lore
said that another members of the family went to New York(dates unavailable).
