Jewish burials in Japan (Tokyo) #general

Mark Schwartz <markschwartz3@...>

I have searched the archives without success. My great-uncle, Robert Lewis,
who was born Robert Lefkovich (and later changed his name), passed away in
1969 (either October of November) in Tokyo, Japan.

My Uncle Bob, who I knew, was a very capable electrical engineer, who
invented a number of devices....including some used by the Allies in WWII.
He was employed by Radio Shack (Tandy Corporation) and eventually moved to
Japan. He married there and his wife, my Aunt Ruth, converted to Judaism,
and survived him. Her last address was listed as "Taiko, Minato Ku,
Akasaka, Tokyo." We lost contact with her many years ago.

I am looking for leads on death, and marriage records in the Jewish
community of Tokyo and Japan. I would love to find out where he was buried
and the fate of my aunt.

All help is appreciated. Thank You.
