CA deaths before 1930 and finding Jewish temples #general

Chaim Aron KAGAN came into this country between 1910 and 1920. In 1920, he
is living with his daughter and family--Bertha and Joe MINSKY--in Chicago as
Hyman COHEN. He is not found again. My husband and I went to the Jewish
cemeteries in Chicago last fall and did an exhaustive search for him and now
believe that Hyman did not die in Chicago. I believe that he moved to Los
Angeles with one of his children and died before the 1930 census.

In the 1920 and 1930 census, Nathan COHEN is living In Los Angeles City, at
540 St. Louis St.

1920 census, Sarah and Isaac SCHWARTZ are living in Los Angeles City at 611
San Benito and in 1930 in San Gabriel.

In 1930 census, Bella and Bane KATZ are living in Los Angeles City at 336
North Chicago; Bertha and Joe MINSKY were living in El Monte Township on
"Slaughter" (no St. or Ave., or Rd. on census sheet); Bessie and Hyman WEINER are
in El Monte township at 2035 Pomona Blvd; Max POSTER and Sarah are in San
Jose township, 443 Kenoak Dr., Pomona City.

How would I go about finding the Jewish temples they might have attended and
the cemeteries he might be buried in?

Thank you so much!
