Re: London Fire Brigade WW2 #general

The London Fire Brigade has a museum and website and there is a page
about looking up records at
http://www.london-fire.gov.uk/about_us/our_history/your_history.asp

They say when making your request, you should give any information you
have that might help trace the records, such as full name, date of
birth, and service dates, also the area might help.
The e-mail address to contact for information on someone serving during
the war or after is: records.services@london-fire.gov.uk

They also say their policies protect what kind of information can be
released and whom to, so I guess you would need to establish you were
relatives.
Incidentally, there are also plans to keep oral memoirs of what it was
like serving in the wartime fire brigade, hopefully some of this might
become available on line.
