Wow, you folks are truly amazing!
One of you, Terri to be specific (I omit her surname so she's not inundated
with similar requests < g >) actually *found* Isaac and his family in the EIDB!!!
To refresh your collective memory, I was looking for:
PESACHINSKY, Isaac, >from Ekaterinoslav, Ukraine
His wife Sonia
His infant son, Louis (probably Lazar)
The index has:
BASACZINSKY, Jzroak >from Ekatercsioslaw
They indeed immigrated in 1904, on February 14, on the SS Main >from Bremen.
(In defense of the transcriber, the manifest is somewhat faint, and a bit
I don't recall if I tried "B" instead of "P" for the surname when I
searched, but I'm certain I didn't try it simultaneously with "J" instead
of "I" . . .
And since another researcher has found what may be Isaac's naturalization
file in the Bronx County Court, I am just thrilled to pieces with this group.
I will, of course, be sending a contribution to JewishGen as a thank you.
Best of luck to all of you in your own searches!
PS - someone else checked the Calif Death Indexes, and found PESACHINSKY
there. Aha, a whole new line of potential relatives to investigate!
