It should be noted that while it has been good to remind people about thank yous
part of the reason may be because this is in discussion format almost like we are in
a room talking to each other. Many times we may communicate with the same person
several times so that it makes it feel even more so that we are in a room discussion
format. We always have to give people benefit of the doubt especially since people
get busy too. There is a joy in helping people. Thanks all!

And I thought that we were being continually being reminded about the length
of our messages, and rudeness is certainly to be avoided. We are asked to
respond to a private email if the response would only be relevant to that
individual, and clearly it is good manners to thank them, but I think that
the presumption must be that everyone who makes a contribution to this group
is to be thanked, because there would be no newsgroup without the questions
raised, and we all learn >from the responses - either because we can make use
of them in our own researches, or because they are educational.

Some of us enjoy helping people and the very fact of getting a response >from
others means that it has struck a chord with them, in that they have thought
it worth responding.
