Using a popular search engine, I searched for "Dr Nathan Adler" and
found that he was a chief rabbi in England. (In Penzance in the
In 1844 he was noted as the Chief Rabbi of Hanover and was one of
four candidates for the position of Chief Rabbi of England.
He was also involved in the consecration of Princes Road Synagogue
in Liverpool in 1874.
So there is every reason why various lodges and societies would have
been named after him.
