HIRSCH Heppenheim>London>East Woodhay, Hampshire & SELIGMAN Germany?>Tulse Hill, South London #general
I am looking for the HIRSCH family of Heppenheim an der Bergstrasse,
Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany. Baruch HIRSCH and his three sons Leopold, Adolph
and Heinrich (Henry) left Heppenheim in the 1880s and founded L HIRSCH & Co
of Warnford Court, Throgmorton Street in the City of London and made their
money >from South African goldmines and English coalmines.
I am especially interested in finding descendants of Leopold, Adolph and
Leopold HIRSCH (1857 Heppenheim -1903 Westminster, London) married Matilda
Frances SELIGMAN (1871 Tulse Hill, South London-Unknown)
In 1901 they were living at 10 Kensington Palace Gardens, Kensington and the
Margaret abt 1892 London -
Ruth abt 1893 London -
John Henry 1895 London - 1983 East Woodhay, Hampshire
married Joan UNKNOWN (1913-2002 East Woodhay, Hampshire)
Richard abt 1899 London -
Adolph HIRSCH (1862 Heppenheim - Unknown) married Georgette SELIGMAN (abt
In 1901 they were living in 10 Upper Brook Street, St George's, Hanover
Square, London and had one child:
Gladys abt 1900 London St James -
In 1901 Heinrich (Henry) Baruch HIRSCH was unmarried. He was born in 1872
and living at 110 Mount Street in St Georges, Hanover Square, London
The two wives of Leopold and Adolph, Matilda and Georgette, may have been
sisters. Georgette had a brother Armand Seligman.
On the net I have also found a Lindsay HIRSCH of L Hirsch & Co who had a
correspondence with Winston Churchill in 1909.
Please contact me privately on email@example.com if there is any
connection unless it is of general interest to the discussion group. Thanks!
