French Jewish Scouts (Dinard & Beaulieu/Dordogne) & ALTSHUL family (Paris & Switzerland) #general

Alice Josephs

My mother (born 1931) and her elder sister attended the De Hirsch school in
Paris (1938-9) and were evacuated with the Jewish scout movement first to
Dinard and then to Beaulieu in the Dordogne until June 1940.

There was an older girl called Annette and also children called Jeanette,
Helene, Marguerite and Simone (as with my mother, names of refugees of
non-French origin may have been made more French).

My mother met two other survivors >from that time after the war Madame
ALTSHUL who lived in Paris and her daughter Charlotte ALTSHUL who was in
Switzerland in 1948. There was also a son ALTSHUL who survived the war
elsewhere. Madame ALTSHUL may have been interned with my grandmother in the
Velodrome d'Hiver (the bicycle racing stadium) in Paris. The ALTSHUL mother
and daughter both had flaming red hair, if this jogs the memory of anyone.

So, is there anyone else out there who was at the De Hirsch school and/or
was evacuated to Dinard and Beaulieu at the same time as my mother? Have
there been any books or research on this?
