Arye Barkai to Speak to JGS of Greater Miami, Inc. on Sunday, January 8, 2006 #general

Barbara Musikar

The Jewish Genealogy Society of Greater Miami will meet on Sunday, January 8
at 10 AM sharp at the Jewish Federation, 4200 Biscayne Blvd. Parking is at
the rear of the building, on Federal Highway.

The subject of the meeting will be "The Remarkable Ringelheims," presented
by Arye Barkai.

Arye has extensively researched his Ringelheim origins (all Ringelheims are
related to him!) and, using many different research strategies and chains of
contacts, has connected the scattered branches like pieces of a jigsaw
puzzle into one family tree. Ringelheims in Manasterz, Tarnawka, Tarnow,
Sieniawa, Argentina and Brussels have Korn and Fass connections, among
hundreds of other surnames. Even Yiddish writer Yitzhak Leib Peretz married
a Ringelheim. Arye will describe notable contemporary Ringelheims, unsolved
enigmas, his research in Galicia and the search for the Loebells, a possible
link to Herman Goebbels, Hitler’s second in command.

Snowbird genealogist vacationing in Florida for the season are always
welcome.
