Several years ago I was looking up some obituaries as a favor for someoneI am glad to say that this is certainly not the case with Birth
Announcements in the London Jewish Chronicle. I was looking at copies >from
the 1870's at the British Library Newspaper Library in London.
The birth announcements are the very first item in the paper.
Interestingly I found that the announcement for my father's uncle only gave
the Hebrew date, whereas all the others gave the secular date.
