What an erudite discussion has ensued because of my question about the
derivation of a name. However, in these responses regarding suffixes no one
has addressed the ending of the name that I presented. The name is
PURINSON. Everyone seems to be in agreement that it is a derivative of
Tsiporah. But, what about the "son" ending. This ending did not come about
just in the US. The name was the same in Russia according to two other
researchers on the name.
Because a number of the Purinsons were blue eyed and blond haired we used to
say (kiddingly) that a Swede sneaked into the family at some point.
