Kalman #general

I am also Kalman, named after my grandfather Kalman. The family came
from Kielce, but I don't know where they lived prior to that. I recall
reading somewhere that Kalman (derived >from Kalonymos) is one of the two
Greek names by which you can be called to the Torah (the other being
Sander/Alexander). If so, then Kalman would be derived >from the Greek,
rather than >from a non-Jewish Hungarian name. Does anyone have the
resources to check this out?
