Yad Vashem:Miriam HECHT #general

Steve Orlen

Dear Cousins,

In 1955, a woman named Miriam HECHT submitted several pages of
testimony for her family JEWNOWICZ aka IEVNOVICH >from Polonka. One of
the pages was for her mother Chana nee EPSTEIN, daughter of Yitzkhak.
Chana was born in Slonim in 1881. I have been searching for many
years for descendants of one of my cousins, Anna EPSTEIN, born in the
1880s, married to a man with a surname something like YEVANOVITZ. She
was the only member that I know of >from my EPSTEIN family who stayed
behind in the Pale. And this woman sounds like a very close match.

The page of testimony was submitted in Hebrew, and of course the date
is >from 50 years ago. Would anyone who reads Hebrew be kind enough to
find this POT on the Yad Vashem site & tell me the address of Miriam
Hecht? That would be a start. Or if this woman's name sounds familiar
to any of you...

Best, Steve Orlen
