The name MUUD #general
krippens <krippens@...>
Can anyone help me with this family name? It was my grandmother's maiden
name, spelled MUUD or something like MUID. Pronounced something like moo-ud. She was >from the Polish town Ostrow-Lubelski which was Ostrow-Siedlecki before the war. She arrived in this country around 1914. I get nothing (>from Poland or Russia) >from an Ellis Island search. Any information at all would be appreciated. Thanks so much Karen Jo Rippens Gendler/Handler and Chankis >from Matsiev (Lukov), Ukraine Zerobnick/Rubin and Muud >from Ostrow-Lubelski, Poland (formerly Ostrow-Siedlecki) MODERATOR NOTE: If you have not done so already, you may also search the JewishGen Family Finder at http://www.jewishgen.org/jgff/ to find others who may have MUUDs or similar names. If you create your own entry as well, using the "enter/modify" option, you will make your information available to other researchers who will then be able to find you.
