A JewishGenner told us in April about his conversation with someone at the New
York City Board of Elections. He was told that the warehouse containing voter
registration records had moved recently and the records would not be available
to the public until September 2006.
I contacted the Deputy Chief Clerk of the New York City Board of Elections, and
he told me that the voter registration records that had been stored in the
warehouse were stored in an interim facility and were accessible.
I made many attempts by e-mail and phone to determine specifically which records
would or wouldn't be available during conference week through the Manhattan
Borough Office. I was informed today by the Deputy Chief Clerk of that office
that the records at the interim voting machine facility are boxed for a move to
the permanent facility early in 2007 and will not be available during the
conference. I have not been able to learn which years those records cover.
