Looking for descendants and those knowledgeable of the family of Abraham and
Lena FINKELSTEIN who came >from Russia in 1893/1896. He was a tailor and
presser of cloaks. The family lived in Manhattan until sometime between
1906-1909, then moved to Brooklyn by 1910 where he died in 1914 and she in
1927.

Children listed in 1910 Census included:
Sam 27 (he was a tailor/waist maker/worked on cloaks who later married
Belle; their son was Dr. Albert)
Louis 25 (he was a tailor/garment worker/cloaks who later married Sadie, had
a boy Abraham and a girl, possibly Florence)
Annie or Anna 20 (she was a bookkeeper who married Sam LEVY, children were
Edith, Julien, Abraham, Ira)
Israel or Isidore or Ralph, he was an electrician or electrical worker - -
never married
Mollie or Molly - she died in 1914
Rosie - she died earlier than Mollie
Ida - married Abraham HOROWITZ after 1930 - no children
Celia married Ernest SAUNDERS about 1923 - related family name of a brother
of his was TAYLOR -- Celia had a daughter named Anna Mae - and overall was
married three times

Jacob or Jake or Jack was the last child. Ida, Rosie, and Jacob were the
only children born in New York.

According to the 1920 Census, the birthplace of Lena, Celia, and Celia was
Kovna, Russia (Kaunas Lithuania).
Benjamin Lane in 1904 when he arrived in New York >from Ponivez Russia
(Panevezys Lithuania) said Abraham Finkelstein was his cousin and nearest
relative in New York. The Monroe Street address he gave for Abraham
corresponded to the address in the 1905 NY State Census for the family and
also Samuel Finkelstein's World War I Draft Registration records.

If you know of this family or of their descendants, please contact me
privately.
