Assuming that Icho is a nickname for Ichok, the reason people have
difficulty with names like Ichok is very simple: we tend to forget
or overlook a crucial piece of basic general knowledge in the field
of foreign languages, namely that the letter "C" in Polish has the
sound of "TS" or "TZ." If the name were written "Itzhok" instead of
"Ichok", how many people would fail to recognize this as a
transliteration of the Hebrew name Yitzhok (Isaac)?
