Re: Gender of my Great Grandparents #general

Stan Goodman <SPAM_FOILER@...>

I have been receiving a great deal of help >from a volunteer geneologist. He has
identified the names of three of my great grandparents as "Matis", "Judah" and
"Fugah". I am uncertain as to the gender represented by each of these names.

Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Judah, as the moderator has written, is a son of the Patriarch Jacob; you
can verify that if you can find a Bible. "Matis" is "Matthew", a name which
also appears in the Bible and elsewhere in Jewish history; you can check.
Both of these are males.

"Fuga" is, in all probability really "Feiga". This is a Yiddish name; it is
given to girls. It is female.
